When unstaffed only Walton-on-Naze services have conductors who can assist, meet on the platform. For all other services a taxi will be provided.
If the ticket office is closed a taxi will be provided for all services without a conductor (any service other than Walton on the Naze services).

When emergency rail replacement is in operation for service disruption, we arrange for local First Bus Group bus routes (61, 62, 65, and 66) to accept railway ticket holders between Colchester North station, Colchester Town station, and Hythe station.

There are five cycle stands on the station forecourt, nearly opposite the ticket office window. There are four secure lockers next to these that can be booked in advance here.
There is also a sheltered cycle parking area providing five stands located on Platform 1 (for trains towards Colchester, London, and Walton-on-the-Naze).
